Philosophical and theoretical considerations

Post-modern counseling arts

The advent of the post-modern changes the way in which people perceive experience shifting meaning making, authentic control and understanding through dynamic co-construction.

“Anything is art if an artist says it is.”
Marcel Duchamp

The post-modern perspective provides a framework for the application and integration of various forms of philosophy and counseling technologies. The post-modern appears as a development of art, science and literature.

“From the idea that the self is not given to us, I think there is only one practical consequence: we have to create ourselves as a work of art.”
Michel Foucault

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) as developed and created by Francine Shapiro, Ph.D., remains one of the most effective orientations towards healing trauma. This incredibly powerful and transnational orientation has been verified through extensive research. Having been trained in its application I have used it in many sessions witnessing amazing results that transform lives. One of the first steps relates to learning how to relax. You can begin today by watching a relaxation video on Youtube or any other content provider.

The Present Moment

Relaxation, Meditation, Mindfulness, the perspective of the watcher, and I am awareness relate to options for accessing healing through – The power of Now where infinite possibilities arise where stillness and silence abide. These more spiritual orientations can be best learned through experience although you can get started with Eckhart Tolle – The power of Now, and Ramana Maharshi.
